Fall Yard Work That Pays Off Next Spring
What you do in October decides how much repair work you need in April. Five tasks worth doing before the ground freezes.

Fall is the cheapest time to prevent spring problems. The work is straightforward and the payoff shows up months later.
Five tasks that matter
- Remove leaves before they mat down and smother turf over winter
- Cut the lawn slightly shorter for the final cut to reduce disease pressure
- Clear beds of spent annuals and diseased foliage rather than leaving it in place
- Prune deadwood and any branch that could fail under snow or ice load
- Make sure grading and downspout outlets move meltwater away from the foundation
Trees deserve a look before winter
Snow and ice load finds weak branches. A pruning visit in fall is far less disruptive than an emergency removal in February. Our tree care work covers pruning, deadwood removal and full removals with debris haul-away.
